Die Nominierungen wurden am 24. Januar 2001 verkündet. Die meisten Nominierungen erhielt Nelly Furtado mit sechs.^[1] Von diesen gewann sie vier, womit sie als Sieger des Abends gilt.^[2]^[3] In die Canadian Music Hall of Fame wurde Bruce Cockburn aufgenommen.
