Ronald Polansky

Ronald M. Polansky, auch in der Kurzform Ron Polansky (* 1948) ist ein US-amerikanischer Philosoph und Philosophiehistoriker auf dem Gebiet der antiken Philosophie.

Polansky erwarb zunächst einen B.A. in Economics an der Yale University, bevor er zur Philosophie wechselte und am Boston College 1971 einen M.A. absolvierte. Zum Ph.D. in Philosophie promoviert wurde er ebendort 1974. Polansky war dann Professor für Philosophie an der Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, an der er 2019 emeritiert wurde.

Polansky arbeitet zu Aristoteles (besonders zu den Parva naturalia, Politik, Nikomachischen Ethik, De anima, Metaphysik) und Platon (besonders zum Theaitetos). Er ist Herausgeber der Fachzeitschrift Ancient Philosophy. Darüber hinaus beschäftigt er sich auch mit der Bioethik.
