Bis zur landesweiten Neuordnung der französischen Kantone im März 2015 gehörten zum Kanton Tournus die 13 Gemeinden Farges-lès-Mâcon, La Chapelle-sous-Brancion, La Truchère, Lacrost, Le Villars, Martailly-lès-Brancion, Ozenay, Préty, Ratenelle, Romenay, Royer, Tournus und Uchizy. Sein Zuschnitt entsprach einer Fläche von 171,43 km2. Er besaß vor 2015 einen anderen INSEE-Code als heute, nämlich 7149.
